Replication Error

Can anyone tell me how severe this error is and how to fix it? I have
received this error twice now within the month. The database seems fine and
replication continues at the next scheduled time without error.
Error: 14151, Severity: 18, State: 1
Replication-agentclassname: agent
dti000s1-Perception33-Perception33_pub-DTI000S6-6 failed. Article
'S_ReportTopic' failed data validation (rowcount and checksum)..
When this happens also get the following error as well for every table in
the database.
Error: 20574, Severity: 10, State: 1
Subscriber 'DTI000S6' subscription to article 'A_Result' in publication
'Perception33_pub' failed data validation..
This means that the following tables are out of sync - A_Result, and
S_ReportTopic.
Run a validation to do a row count and determine how badly out of sync you
are.
Are you running the continue of data consistency error profile? I would
disable this as it hides such consistency problems.

Replication

I have replication configured in an sql 2005 environment. I have
executed the wizard twice but each time the following maintenance jobs
are missing
Reinitialize subscriptions having data validation failures
Agent history clean up: distribution
Replication monitoring refresher for distribution.
Replication agents checkup
Distribution clean up: distribution
Expired subscription clean up
If someone can tell me what most be done to have these jobs created
or why the wizard failed to create them it would be a big help.What do you set up exactly? Distributor, Publisher and Subscriber? Also what
Replication method do you setup? Merge, Transactional, Snapshot?

I have transactional replication configured using a remote distributor
to 'push' articles to a subscriber with ALL jobs configured to run at
the distributor.|||Hello,
What version of SQL 2005 you are using. As there was bug prior SP1. try
increasing the size of your model db try configuring again.

Replicating twice

I have a question that google seems eerily quite on. I'm running SQL
2005 and am replicating (merge via the web) from an intermediate box
which is also running 05. The intermediate box is replicating in some
fashion (unsure since it isn't under my control) from a SQL 2K box.
My issue is that when the job executes it says "Merge completed with no
data changes processed." even though the intermediate box has updated
data on it. Is this common? Is the answer so obvious that everyone is
laughing at me now?

It should work. How is your global priority configured? You might want to
check the conflict viewer to see if these conflicts are logged.

If I understand correctly, your SQL 2005 is subscribing from an intermediate
box, which subscribes from a SQL 2K server? Please note that for merge
replication, the publisher database version has be to newer than the
subscriber version, so basically SQL Server 2005 cannot be a subscriber of a
SQL 2000 publisher.

Replicating same table twice in different publication types

I have a table that I need to replicate twice. Once as part of an updating
subscriber transactional publication and once as a plain transactional repliaction.
This table has an identity column, which is causing the problem.
If I set the identity management to false, it complains that it conflicts
with how the article is already published. If I say true, then it complains
that this setting is ony requierd for updating subscriber publications.
Is there any way around this?

|||There are some publication properties which will affect an article for all
subsequent publications using this article.
This is one of them. One of the things you can do is use manual identity
range management if you have small numbers of subscribers.

create a transaction replication publication with updating subscribers
create a table with an identity column
publish the table with identity management to auto
subscribe to the publication and table from one database
create a normal transactional replication publication
add the same table as an article. --This fails due tot he constraint on
the identity range management.
I want to do this because we have a scale out replication to architecture.
We run our websites against a subscriber DBs to distribute load.
I want to also puiblish to reporting server

I understand your concern.
Since this is a product limitation, the replication could not be
implemented if there is Identity confiliction.
I recommend that you assign discrete ID value range for the table in
different publication.
For example:
publisher1.tblTest has the identity range:
[1-10000],[20001-30000],[40001-50000],[60001-70000],........
publsher2.tblTest has the identity range: [10001-20000], [30001-40000],
[50001-60000],.............
You can create a trigger for the table [tblTest], on publisher1, when the
current identity value reaches to the one max value in [10000, 30000,
50000,..., (2n+1)*10000,...] (n>=0), jump the current identity id to the
next minimal value in [1,20001,40001,...,2n*10000+1,...] (n>=0) by using
"DBCC CHECKIDENT";
on publisher2, you can use the same way, but the max values are in the set
[20000,40000,..., 2n*10000,...] (n>=1) while the min values
[10001,30001,...,(2n-1)*10000+1] (n>=1).
By this way, the two publications can work together without identity
confliction.
